Our Dope Fit Chick of the week is Fitness Instructor Ciara Williams! In this interview she shares what motivates her to workout and what she eats to help her stay in shape.

I’m a New Orleans Native. Living a Healthy lifestyle in a city with the best foods, you have to have will power. You have to be mental strong! I’ve been into fitness for over 7 years now. I had my share of ups and downs when it came to transitioning to a healthy lifestyle. I started taking it very serious about 4 years ago. I started holding myself accountable for my actions, I couldn't let myself down so I eventually started changing my diet and my body gradually started changing too. Everyone started asking me some tips that they can implicate to change their daily lives, Which made me feel really good and that moment I knew I was on the right path.


What motivates you to work out and live a healthy lifestyle?

What motivates me is I want to change the world with one healthy meal and one workout session at a time. I want to lead by example. I want someone to look at me and say “because of you, I didn’t give up”. There’s a lot of people watching me and for my that reason, I won’t GIVE UP ! 

What does your workout routine look like?

My routine will start off with a 5 min warmup. I would do a round of jump ropes to get my heart rate up. Then I would work on my target muscles for that day. I train abs everyday with intense ab workouts. Then another round of jump ropes to call it FITGLAMBODY day! 

       What do you eat in a typical day to stay in shape?

I eat 5 small meals a day. A lot of baked or sautéed lean proteins. I eat lots of green leafy veggies and healthy fats. I stay away from fried foods, high carbs and sugary foods too. 

      How do you maintain your hair while working out?

I mainly wear hats when I go workout. 

      What’s in your gym bag?

Preworkout LIT cotton candy FLAVOR, Bodytech Fruit punch Flavor, Dymatize vanilla flavor protein, Baby Wipes, workout gloves, sweatbelt and a few hair bands. 

How do you create the balance between being a wife/significant partner and making time for the gym?

My significant partner understands GYM is life for me. He know my day wouldn't go right if I don’t hit the Gym first. It’s crazy cause I’ll have an attitude too if something comes up that will invade on my Gym time Lol. 

    What might we catch you doing outside the gym?

You can catch me wherever I’m at doing something active. If I’m at work I’m doing calf raises or If I’m out in the street having a good time anything I see will become workout equipment.

  1. Drink a gallon of water a day.

  2. Stay away from fast food restaurants, Fried foods, Red meats and Little Debbie Cakes.

  3. Eat more lean proteins, green veggies and fruits.
