Our Dope Fit Chick of the week is, Trainer/Health & Fitness Coach, Emoni Cheyanne. In this interview she shares what motivates her to workout and a few fitness tips!

What motivates you to work out and live a healthy lifestyle?

It motivates me every day to know that I can change something and when I’m changing it, it’s for the better and it’s for the healthier me! Healthy lifestyle and a fitness body feels great and I want to be able to let other people know about this beautiful journey that you can take Going into fitness.                  


What does your workout routine look like?

5-6 days a week.

4 days gym

2 days a outdoor activity (ex. Beach run, hiking, class)         


What do you eat in a typical day to stay in shape?

I am Pescatarian. Seafood is all I eat. My typical snacks usually have about under 150 calories. Such ass Apples & Almond Butter or Skinny POP Popcorn (Gluten Free). I don’t drink or eat any type of dairy, so I have meat dairy free Gluten free yogurt. I have some fruits. I snack a lot. So I make sure I eat LOTS of snacks. A typical lunch for me, I try to eat big for Lunch. So salmon or shrimp brown rice some Always ALWAYS add green into my meals.  Dinner I’ll always do something light, I don’t like to eat heavy for dinner.

I used to believe in putting yourself on a diet but to be honest a diet lifestyle isn’t the way to go. A few things I had to let go in order to feel and look a certain way.  I just make sure that I portion my foods and try to eliminate less or replace food that I shouldn’t eat.


How do you maintain your hair while working out?

So about a year ago I cut my hair around lower ear length, I had to cut some of the old damage burnt hair that I had. So I made a promise to myself that I would not put heat on my hair as much as I used to so if I do straighten my hair it only has to be one time. But usually my hair is either curly, low bun or high and braids.
